Jessie Smith has always had a heart and passion around DEI work and incorporating it into all things in her career life including her 11 years of Recruiting in Technology and Operations and Business Management . Jessie holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Concordia University and did her thesis on “Mandatory Antiracism trainings in all corporate workplaces” . In light of George Floyd being murdered in 2020 and being a new mama and wife herself as well as grieving the loss of her first son , being an Allie and Advocate didn’t feel like enough, so she joined her community and neighbor communities in the movement fight. She also started working more with her own city and was asked to serve as a Chair of Communication promoting racial inclusion as well as serve as a Vice Chair on the PEACE commission working with the police department and community and trying to bring the two more together and create more healing . While doing this work she became a huge supporter for families who have lost their children to police and any community violence. Supporting, loving, and praying with the mothers and family members and helping connect them to healing organizations to start that healing process. This journey has also allowed her to help lift the dreams of 501C3’s along the way like her beautiful friend, Marea’s dream and vision with S2T.
